Ingredients: 50 grammes of cob nuts (either seasonal or removed from a bar of Ritter Sport chocolate), 2 knobs of butter, 2 cloves garlic, Concrete and Clay classic toast, chopped parsley to garnish.
Method: using a pestle and mortar, blend the nuts, butter and garlic to a smooth paste. Spread on grilled toast and garnish with a sprinkling of parsley. Enjoy with a glass of chilled sweet aperitif wine such as Coteaux de Layon from the Loire. If not, Dandilion and Burdock goes well.

Part 1. End of summer.
The end of summer makes me happy as fruit and veg is in abundence. However, the return to school and work after the holidays makes less sense as we all know how frustrating it can be to see the mercury hit 80 degrees on the 21st September. As an unemployed person I am able to enjoy such pleasures and have empathy with my urban comrades. I will take these opportunities to note down the diminishing essence of rural life and try to rekindle it in a diary form-a bit like Vivaldi did with the Four Seasons.

This weekend is Open House weekend in London, with over 500 normally closed doors flung well and truly open for the nosey, rambling, be-anoracked, idle or otherwise unoccupied. It's a great opportunity to see parts of the city you'd never normally get a sniff of, particularly in the east end - most of the amazing buildings are either fully booked or hugely oversubscribed but there's still some gems worth poking around for.
Check Open House London for a map of buildings.

I miss those big black boxes of swallowing coins
a shit-ridden joystick the colour of gum
the 20p lifestyle of coinops and robbers
