Concrete and Clay

Isn't it odd how people seem to attract certain things and situations? Among the things I seem to attract are:

• Cowboy hats and hats of all kinds, but particularly cowboy ones.
• Dust.
• Holey socks.
• Getting thrown out of nightclubs and bars for no reason...

I have been thrown out of the 333 three times and last week was accompanied to the door of the Old Blue Last by my new Ukranian friend Sergei who identified me as a potential deviant in the upstairs parlour. Even Sergei was slightly taken aback by the calmness with which I accepted my fate, so little did this most regularly occuring of events faze me.

As I stood by the exit doing up my coat and finishing the last of my drink, he told me that as a special favour I could take my drink away with me in a paper cup. Smilingly, I told him where to stick his paper cup and walked into the cold.
