FASHION

  1. The prevailing style or custom, as in dress or behavior: out of fashion.
  2. Something, such as a garment, that is in the current mode: a swimsuit that is the latest fashion.
  3. The style characteristic of the social elite: a man of fashion.

I didn't realise how much thought goes into this until the last night when I had the pleasure of attending a focus group geared towards determining microcosmic nuances in fashion for sports brand UMBRO.

"You can wear this but not with that." "This is cool but she's already wearing it." "Golas & Hi Teks are at the bottom of the shoe barrel but everyone's got Air Force."

Is it OK to shop at SIZE? You may think the chances of bumping into someone with the same shoes are slim, but its probably more likely that that person also went to SIZE and will also be frequenting the same establishment you diss outwardly, but love inwardly.

I never thought about these things. My trainers are dirty. My other pair is moldy. I buy most of my shit from charity and the rest from outlets. I love to get fresh clothes from Unit Sicks cause I know the love that's gone into them. I can't see the love going into a pair of Indonesian Nikes (bar maybe the designer).

Thanks to Danny Reakes for lookin out & Al Peters for the laughs.
