I remember betting a friend seven smurfs that I could beat him home in a race. I didn't have seven smurfs but I believed I could win. He asked to see the smurfs before the race began. I told him they were at my house. Stalemate!
I remember the race, neck and neck through Chestnut Close, I took the lead across the level staight of Horseshoes Way and headed for the green door of victory.

Today I associate the taste of sucess with weak lemon barley water.
