LONDON PHOTO ESSAY

My three previous photos essays for Concrete and Clay (Melbourne, Liguria, and the Unit Sicks Shop) were all shot in unfamiliar terriotry, and took less than a fortnight to complete. It's taken four months to produce the same amount of photos from my home town of London. Enjoy.

LATE SEPTEMBER 2000

Mexico looks beautiful, mountains on my left and right, dessert, bushes, cacti...

A settlement lasts for seconds then nothing. With the window open, hot air engulfs my thoughts and plans.

Security check; armed police dressed as soldiers, mirrored aviators exercising every possible inch of authority. Trunks are ordered open, filed of the bus, belongings dissected, luggage interrogated.

My shoulders are peeling. I have never seen so many women with broken noses.
