ROBERT CRUMB

Whitechapel Gallery FREE till 22nd May.

The "father of underground comics", you are bound to recognise his style, this exhibition is an insight into the man that shaped counter-culture for the last forty years, one of America's greatest social commentators who cut through difficult subjects and taboos like a knife. This collection of hard hitting, sometimes risky views of the capitalist society penned on modernity is amusing and offers relief from the serious nature of today. Crumb concludes his work provides "a grand tour of the American unconscious", definitely worth a look if you are around London E1.
